**An Important message from the Battle Creek VAMC
about the COVID-19 Vaccine**
"We have been notified by Veterans reporting that they have received phone calls asking for their interest in the COVID 19 vaccine, but the caller also asked for personally identifiable information such as their date of birth and social security numbers.
Please know these phone calls are a SCAM and it’s not the VA calling Veterans asking for information. Please do not give out your personal information over the phone if you can not confirm who is calling or if you are unsure.
The only national communication going out to Veterans about the COVID-19 Vaccine is via email, encouraging Veterans to sign up to stay informed via the VA COVID-19 website linked here: www.va.gov/covid-19-vaccine/
The Battle Creek VA Medical Center began distribution of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine last week. Veterans in the CLC, inpatient, and residential units are first to get the vaccine along with staff according to the CDc guidelines. When additional quantities of the vaccine become available, we will begin notifying outpatient Veterans based on priorities set by the CDC. you do not need to call or come in at this time. If you want to stay informed, you can register at the VA COVID-19 website linked here: www.va.gov/covid-19-vaccine/ otherwise, you can wait to be contacted by a member of our staff when you are eligible to receive the vaccine or if general vaccination clinics begin."
